I authorize True North LLC to file form 1099 with the IRS and mail the recipient copies on my behalf. I understand that True North LLC will utilize my general ledger data to determine the amounts to be included on form 1099 and complete the filing based on this data. I also authorize True North to charge me a $50 base filing fee plus $10 per 1099 recipient.

Who Gets a 1099?

A Form 1099 is required for anyone that is an Independent Contractor (not a corporation), is paid via check or ACH Debit (those paid via credit card don’t need a 1099 as your credit card company handles this), and were paid $600 or more in 2023.

Typical 1099 recipients are those that perform services ON BEHALF of your company or vendors that provide services TO your company (ie. Your IT guy, your attorney, your bookkeeper, your landscaper) who are not a corporation. If you landlord is not a corporation, they also get a 1099.
